Nationalism-Strong pride in one’s nation or ethnic group. Colonialism-A system by which a country maintains colonies outside it borders. Austria/Hungary-In the 1900’s, a dual monarchy in which the Hapsburg emperor ruled both Austria and Hungary. Dual Monarchy-A form of government in which one ruler governs two nations. World War 1-A war fought from between the Allies and the Central powers. Alliance-An agreement among people or nations to unite for a common cause and to help any alliance member that is attacked. Militarism-Glorification of the military. Trench Warfare-Form of combat in which soldiers take shelter in opposing lines of ditches. Propaganda-False or misleading information spread to further a cause or is used to sway public opinion. Mobilize-To prepare armed forces for war.
