2 Home of the Giants. WMS student member Ben Rowley took this photo in August 2005 from Galdhöpiggen (2470m/8104ft), the highest peak in Scandinavia, located in the Jotunheimen mountain group in south-central Norway. The Jostedalsbreen, a huge glacier, is to the west. In Norse mythology, it was the home of the giants, the Jotun. Mr. Rowley is a third-year medical student at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom. Photo © Ben Rowley, Newcastle, UK. 3 Double Rainbow. The photographer, Paul Perret, was lucky enough to snap a picture of the illusive double rainbow during an evening rainstorm on the Green River in Utah. The raindrops that form the secondary rainbow are higher than those which cause the primary rainbow and are special because they internally reflect the incoming light twice rather than just once. The second rainbow is always dimmer than the first. It is easier to see the second rainbow in places where the air is especially clear. Photo © Paul Perret, Homewood, AL.
