2 What does HIV & AIDs stand for?
HIV stands for human immunodeficiency virus AIDS stands for Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome

3 What is a virus, and how does it reproduce?
A virus is infective agent that usually consists of a nucleic acid molecule in a protein coat, that is only able to reproduce within the living cells of a host.

4 Where did HIV & AIDS come from?
It has been believed to have originated in Africa.

5 How HIV & AIDS contracted?
It is contracted into the human body by either sexual intercourse or by sharing any kind of medical equipment such as needles/ syringes.

6 Where was the first case in the world recorded?
The earliest case recorded was in a man from the Belgian Congo. The first case in the US was San Francisco, California.

7 What are the symptoms of HIV & AIDS?
Pain areas in the abdomen Fever, lose of appetite, night sweats Ulcers in mouth Difficulty swallowing Nausea Swelling or sores in the groin area Skin rashes

8 How long can it take to develop into AIDS?
It can take between 5-10 years for HIV to develop into AIDS if no medical intervention is made.

14 What you can do to avoid this infection
Don’t share medical needles with anyone, use clean needles When getting a blood transfusion be careful, since HIV could be in the blood Use medicines that reduce the chance and risk of getting HIV, such as Truvada Get a test to make sure you don’t have the disease

There is no cure yet to HIV, but there is medicine that helps such as following: Descovy is one of many medicines that have shown signs of helping and preventing HIV Symtuza, has a high barrier to HIV drug resistance

16 Conclusion / Summary HIV & AIDS are a very dangerous disease that can lead to being fatal for a person. HIV & AIDS can lead to very painful symptoms, such as skin rashes, nausea, pain and swelling, etc. There is no cure to HIV & AIDS as of now but there is medicine to help HIV and help prevent this disease. You can get HIV & AIDS from sharing needles, or unprotected sexual intercourse. Many people are living with or have died from HIV & AIDS.
