What Caused the War? Industrial output, trade, and the possession of an overseas empires were the yardstick of wealth and greatness. Russia mobilized for war to help its ally Serbia against Austria.

Allowed leaders to act recklessly because they knew allies would fight with them if they declared war

How Does Technology Lead to a Stalemate?
The defensive weapons of the time were better and more devastating than the offensive ones

What is Trench Warfare? The military dug trenches and shot at one another from them. They where use to protected soldiers from poisonous gases and help give them more time to put on their gas mask. Trenches had numerous rats and diseases that not only ate at their food but also at the soldiers. In total of trenches, their was 2,490 km dug each of that where 1-2 meters wide and only 3 meters deep.

Why Does Wilson Want Neutrality? How do Americans React?
He didn't want to see the war set Americans against one another. At first it was viewed as a distant European quarrel for land and influence.
