Continuing Certification 560 Instructors (or 50%) Trained in 2018
HQ, 6th BDE HAAF 6th Brigade conducted 3 Training Workshops each summer: AL, LA, MS in Jackson, MS for 200 instructors (July 2018) GA in Atlanta for 160 Instructors (July 2018) FL, PR, VI in Orlando for 200 instructors (August 2018) 3 intense days of Proficiency Training (a lot of hands on) Cadet Command & Brigade JROTC Staff are trainers UVI PR & V.I. Puerto Rico 0 DAIs

Pre Certification JROTC Professional Development
Updated Certification Requirements BLUF: Better Prep for Classroom and JSOCC New Training Modules will be incorporated into the Certification Process. All Training materials will be available on the USACC Web Portal Once modules are completed applicant will receive “certificates” to be submitted with their Certification Application.

REVISING JSOCC Phase I – BASIC Course
BLUF – Changes focused on increasing time on Instructional and Classroom Management Strategies. Day 1 Reduced Director’s briefings by 1 hour Afternoon: Introduction to Instructional Strategies (3 Hrs) Eliminate: TOIH Brief – Provide handout and offer as a Tutorial Subject Days 1 – 4: Add tutorial at the end of each day (approximately 1 hr) to reinforce daily instruction: student instructor or guest brigade SME led. Day 2 and Day 3 No Changes: Focuses on CM and JUMS

Day 4 Added 30 Mins to JROTC Curriculum Added 30 Mins to JPA Expanding Ethics to 90 Mins (+30) Adding Teacher Profession Expectations Course (+30 mins) Day 5 CHANGE: Formalize “Best Practices” through SAI/SME briefs (Hang on Portal) ADD: Director’s Outbrief (+30min)

REVISING JSOCC Phase II – Advanced Course
BLUF – By and large, current advanced course POI remains relevant. Day 1 Reduced welcome and Director’s briefings by 30 mins each (2 hrs to 1 hr for both briefings) Moved CNACI briefing from afternoon to morning Added Introduction to Protocols & Advanced Teaching Practices (ATP) for 1 hr Rationale – Allow more time (1 hr) for ATP and eliminate interruption between ATP end-of-day reflections. Days – Added tutorial at the end of each day (approximately 1 hr) to reinforce daily instruction: student instructor or guest brigade SME led.
