I think the glider can yield a useful set of average currents for the upper 200 m by calculating the difference between the observed position and the dead reckoning position----that is actually the way you would measure current set and drift for a ship. Note that the glider was programmed to glide between the two east-west points ( N, W and N, W) and the variability of its track must have been due to the currents it encountered. Glider Jan 30th
