8. Objectives
To build capacity in universities and regions in Brazil, Chile and Europe to understand the mechanisms and opportunities for fostering local cooperation to promote innovation, enterprise and internationalisation
To understand the barriers and challenges in building these partnerships and how these may be overcome
To build capacity in universities in Brazil and Chile to work with other smaller universities in their countries, especially in peripheral place
To promote dialogue and cooperation between countries in Latin America and Europe
To promote dialogue between institutions in Latin America and Europe
To bring new learning from Latin America back to Europe and vice-versa to build understanding of ‘what works’ in mobilising universities for regional development
To build mutual understanding of what it means to be a ‘civic’ or socially responsible university.
