1 MARITIME POLICY OF POLAND UP TO 2020 (WITH A PERSPECTIVE UP TO 2030)

2 The mission of Polish maritime policy is to maximise benefits for the people and economy of Poland from a sustainable use of country's coastal location and the natural resources of the seas and oceans The strategic goal is to increase the share of the maritime sector in GDP and employment growth in the maritime sector

3 Maritime policy of Poland is an integral part of the mid- and long-term country’s development policy and contributes to the objectives set out in „Europe 2020: A European Strategy for Smart, Sustainable, and Inclusive Growth”. Maritime policy of Poland was approved by the Council of Ministers on 17 March 2015.

4 PRIORITIES OF POLISH MARITIME POLICY
Strengthening the position of Polish seaports Increasing the competitiveness of maritime transport Ensuring maritime safety and security Improvement of the state of marine environment and shoreline protection Creating conditions for the development of the maritime economy based on knowledge and qualifications Rational use of the natural resources of marine environment Sustainable management of marine fishery Strengthening the national energy security Streamlining maritime governance

6 NATIONAL LEVEL INVOLVED IN DEVELOPING OF MARITIME POLICY
● Prime Minister ● The Interministerial Committee on Maritime Policy of Poland – advisory body to the Prime Minister ● Minister of Infrastructure and Development – coordination of maritime policy implementation ● Members of the Council of Ministers responsible for sectors linked to maritime policy ● Government administration, including maritime administration ● Regional and municipal self-governments and their associations

7 INTERMINISTERIAL COMMITTEE ON MARITIME POLICY OF POLAND
Established by Prime Minister by Executive Order from 17 September 2008 The Chairman of the Committee – Minister of Infrastructure and Development The Deputy Chairman of the Committee – Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Infrastructure and Development responsible for maritime affairs Members of the Committee: Representatives in rank of Secretary and Undersecretary of State delegated by Ministers of: Finance, Economy, Treasury, Foreign Affaires, Science and Higher Education, Labour and Social Policy, Agriculture and Rural Development, Sport and Tourism, Interior, Administration and Digitalization, Environment, National Defense Commander-in-Chief of Border Guard Chief of the Internal Security Agency Secretary of the Committee – Deputy Director of Maritime Transport and Shipping Safety Departament at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Development Maritime Policy Unit at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Development

8 MAIN TASKS OF THE COMMITTEE
Developing of „Maritime Policy of the Republic of Poland” Monitoring of the implementation of maritime policy Preparing of annual reports and other government documents related to the implementation of maritime policy Drafting of government documents on the national and European maritime policy issues Reviewing other government documents and actions related to the implementation of maritime policy
