6 STATUS WITH REGARDS TO BOARD APPOINTMENT
Matter challenging the dissolution of the Board is still before the Court. Relevant papers have been exchanged between the parties. Matter is awaiting a hearing. Legal Opinion was sought with regards to appointment of a new board A legal Opinion was given to the Executive Authority to proceed with the process of appointing a new Board as the matter outweighs individual interest of the dissolved Board members An advertisement calling for nomination was published in the national newspapers (The New Age and Sunday Independent) with closing date of 05 August 2016 Advertisement in all official languages was published in the government gazette with closing date of 21 August The difference in dates is due to delay in publishing the government gazette. All nominations will be forwarded to the Portfolio Committee for further processing.

7 STATUS WITH REGARDS TO MANAGEMENT
ISSUE PROGRESS EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT: The two posts of Chief Financial Officer and Head of Languages have been filled. Chief Financial Officer: Ms Talitha Shongwe Executive Head Languages: Dr Hendry Nkuna OTHER POSTS ADVERTISED 7 Positions have been advertised: 1x Senior Manager: Human Resources 1x Chief of Staff: CEO’s Office 1x Senior Manager: Institutional Performance and Governance 1x Personal Assistant to the Executive Head: Languages 3x Senior Provincial Managers (Mpumalanga, North-West and Free State) Litigation The dismissal of employees is still pending in the Labour Court Some of the employees approached PanSALB to negotiate for settlement. (no info from PanSALB) Request for financial assistance was submitted to the National Treasury by the CEO National Treasury referred the request to DAC for submission
