CPLT and GIFT The Chilean Transparency Council (CPLT) and the Access to Information law were enacted ten years ago (2008). The CPLT -public and autonomous institution- is the only Chilean authority guaranteeing and promoting transparency that participates at GIFT. The CPLT is part of GIFT since Our goal is to join a network where we can share and learn best practices in matters of fiscal transparency. As an outcome of the participation on this network, in 2016 we did an internship at the Secretary of the Treasury of Mexico. This initiative prompted us to install our first Portal of Budget Transparency. In 2018 we are renewing our commitment and interest to continue participating in this network

CITIZENS AND TP The CPLT began this year, a participatory process of consultative nature, through an inclusive, decentralized and cross-sectional information that brought together social, political, economic and cultural actors from all over the country. Budget information was one of the priorities highlighted by the participants: 44% indicated that one of the most relevant areas in which more transparency is needed in the country, has to do with the nation's budget. Participants in the process noted that it is very important to identify the most frequent requests and information needs of citizens; and consider these inputs as a guide to provide proactively, focused and relevant information.
