Solution
Given:- journey distance =900 km, journey distance = 15% of total distance
To Find :- total distance
Journey distance = 15% of total distance (given)
Ans:- Total distance is 6000km

3. spent on provisions, if his income is Rs. 5000
Example2:- Raja spent 25% of his income on provisions . Find the amount
spent on provisions, if his income is Rs. 5000
Solution:- Given :- Income = Rs 5000 , Provision= 25% of income
To Find :- Amount spent on provision
Provision = 25% of income (given)
Ans:- Amount spent on provision is Rs 1,250

Example 3: The strength of a school is 15, % of them are boys. 35%
of them are girls and the rest are teachers. Find the number of teachers.
Solution
Given:- Total strength= 15,000 , boys = 20% , girls =35%, rest are teachers
To Find :- number of teachers
Percentage of teachers = 100 – total percentage of boys and girls
Total percentage of boys and girls = = 55%
∴ Percentage of teachers = 100 – 55 = 45%
number of teachers = 45% of total strength
Ans:- number of teachers is 6,750
