Hand-made Personal Accessories Totes, Hobos, and Coverings This is an idea for a small business that makes simple cloth bags for books, groceries, and totes. This has been set-up to be a family production from the top on down. Children can get enjoyment out of creating their own designs and painting them on the canvas/cloth bags. People buy these bags for all sort of reasons, and the more creative, the better. Ideas are always open, and designs can be limitless.

2 Initial Start-up Requirements

A “Commitment Voucher” is a voucher that can be used to submit what commitment can be used for a period of time so that the planning team can work ahead knowing who is going to be available. This also helps to keep the entire business team active and afloat.

3 Business Financial Start-up
$ for Supplies Material Canvas, Cotton, Decorative Handles and Hems Thread Fliers Business Cards Other production notions Needles, Pens, Paints, Patches Buttons, zippers A financial breakdown of what is needed from each team member to get the business up and running. This example is a minimum of $500 needs to be raised to cover initial start-up expenses for the business including business license, advertising, and product supplies.

4 Production Personal Contribution Internet & phone contact Sewing Machine: $60.00-$200 Thread: 50.00 Notions: 20.00 Production Skills: Straight-stitch Sewing Gluing material and cardboard Painting and drawing Cutting out patterns Product designing Time: Personal contribution for start-up is essential. Each person contributes to the $500 business start-up expense. Also, each member needs to have other contributions to make the project of a business successful: internet & phone contact, sewing machine, thread, and notions. Along comes the creativity that each person can bring to the table to get production underway such as cutting out patterns, hand sewing of buttons, gluing, and machine sewing. Product design is done before any product is manufactured to ensure a satisfactory production.

5 Everyone can be Involved
In conclusion, everyone in the family can be involved with a creative home business. Each member will have something to contribute even if it means only cleaning up and taking out the trash, which might be what a few members might be really good at.
