1 Mexican Cleaner Production Centre

2 Cleaner Production Program
Agenda 21 was established as the result of the first United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) held in Rio de Janeiro in It states the need to promote sustainable development and promotes the use of Cleaner Production as a strategy to achieve this goal.

3 National Cleaner Production Centres
Croatia Slovakia Hungary Czech Republic Romania Serbia Bulgaria Montenegro Slovenia Brazil Bolivia Perú Colombia Ecuador India Vietnam Sri Lanka Laos Cambodia Guatemala Costa Rica El Salvador Nicaragua Honduras Cuba Macedonia Armenia Russia Ukraine Uzbekistan Corea China Egypt Kenya Tunisia Morocco South Africa Ethiopia Ghana Zimbabwe Mozambique Tanzania Mexico

4 Establishment of the Mexican Cleaner Production Centre (MCPC)
The MCPC was created in December 1995, as a part of: The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and The United Nations for the Environment Program (UNEP)

5 Establishment of the Regional Cleaner Production Centres (RCPC)
In 2003 the program to extend the CPC’s was approved by the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) On October 15th 2004 the RCPC in Tabasco was opened On November 5th 2004 the RCPC in Chihuahua was opened Chihuahua Tabasco

6 Mission Statement The purpose of the MCPC is to contribute to the productivity and performance improvement of the industry. This will facilitate the access to new markets through cleaner production techniques and sustainable industrial development tools.

7 Cleaner Production Cleaner Production is the continuous application of an integrated preventive environmental strategy to processes, products and services to enhance efficiency. This leads to improved environmental performance, cost savings, and the reduction of risks to humans and the environment. CP Methodology Stage 1 Stage2 Stage 3 Stage4 Stage 5
