7 x 7 Words- when you are presenting information you want to have no more than seven (7) words on each line Lines- no more than seven (7) lines on a page

Breakdown of Bullets by Lines
1st Bullet- default text size is 32. 2nd Bullet- default text size is 28. 3rd Bullet- default text size is 24. 4th Bullet- default text size is 20. 5th Bullet- default text size is 20. These are the default bullet shapes.

K.I.S.S. Keep It Simple Silly Keep things simple, don’t try to do
too much on one slide.

Use different font styles Don’ts Use smaller than 32 point font Use hard to see colors

Use fonts that are easy to see Don’ts Reduce your font size to make all the info fit Use more than 4 font styles

Color Do’s Don’ts Red text with white backgrounds
Use complimentary colors Dark background and light text Use bright, warm colors Don’ts Red text with white backgrounds Never use red text with a tv Colors that are too similar to your background

Text Alignments Left align easiest to read Center headings
Vary the bullet levels Avoid Justify and Right aligns Place graphics mostly on the left

Graphics Place mostly on the left (your eyes
are trained to start there) Place any graphics before or after your text, don’t place it in the middle of information Don’t place too many on your slide

Sounds You can add sound to your presentation
You don’t want to have sound with every letter, word, transition or graphic Use sounds to enhance, not take away from your presentation

Other Information You don’t have to use a period on every sentence
You can still do watermarks When you type information, think of it like highlighting to information and you will tell the specifics
