8. Total School Buses Factors to Consider:
1. The number of school buses have declined by about 5% over this 16 year period. Additionally, in 2013/14 the total number of school buses had increased by 199 over the total school buses in
2. Regular H/S transportation is not mandated and beginning in 2010 funded thru the local level only.
Over 50% of California school buses are equipped with lap/should belt restraints.

1. The total number of school pupil passenger injuries have declined by 43%.
Ridership on California school buses is approximately 682,000 pupils twice daily.

11. School bus driver at-fault collisions
Factors to Consider:
1. In CY the school bus driver was the primary cause of 42 % of all school bus accidents. In FY – 2012/13 that number dropped to 13.2 %.
