1 Warm-Up: do immediately!
1) Take out your hard copy of your rough draft. 2) Retrieve three different colored highlighters or markers. 1st color: Highlight or underline your thesis statement. 2nd color: Highlight or underline EVERY QUOTE that you incorporated 3rd color: Highlight or underline EVERY SOURCE that you mentioned (either in-text with a paraphrase or summary or quote OR in a citation). 3) Create a key on the top of your paper of your colors.

2 If you do not have an essay to give to someone else, then you may not participate in the peer review process today. Sit quietly. peer Review 1) Trade papers with someone at your table or directly around you. Please make this someone who has not already read your essay. 2) Fill out the top of the Peer Review handout (author’s name, reviewer’s name). 3) Read through the essay in its entirety, once. Do not do anything else until have you read the essay. 4) Once you have read the essay, fill out the peer review handout for your author. Respond in complete sentences. Do not skip any of the questions. 5) Follow the directions for margin notes and marks on the essay. 6) Complete the Writing Checklist for your author.

3 Final Draft is due at the BEGINNING of class on Wednesday!
Author’s reflection 1) Read the comments your reviewer provided you with. 2) Look at the Writer’s Checklist your peer reviewer provided you with. 3) Fill out the Author’s Reflection. Turn this in to Ms. Yeganegi BEFORE you leave. 4) Be sure to take into consideration all your reviewer’s comments when you complete your final draft.

Use evidence if you can. When you can’t, be sure to explain your rationale and reference events from Part 3/epilogue. Due tomorrow at the BEGINNING of class.
