Current status - Action Plans for Annex I most threatened species:
10) Management Plans for huntable species and Action Plans for other species under the Birds Directive Current status - Action Plans for Annex I most threatened species: A revised priority list for new plans (including suggestion of Birdlife to include Egyprian vulture) has been sent to MSs for approval. An international Action Plan for Saker Falcon (prepared by Birdlife, agreed by ORNIS in 2006) was uploaded on DG ENV Web page In 2008 will be carried out 3 new Action Plans (Neophron percnopterus, Coracias garrulus, Chersophilus duponti) and 3 revised Action Plans (Marmaronetta angustirostris, Acrocephalus paludicola, Aquila adalberti)

10) Management Plans for huntable species and Action Plans for other species under the Birds Directive Current status - Management Plans for Annex II species in unfavourable conservation status: 7 plans approved by MSs and uploaded on DG ENV Web page in 2007 (black tailed godwit, velvet scoter, curlew, pintail, red crested pochard, skylark, turtle dove) 4 plans were finalised recently and agreement has been requested to the MSs (common gull, common snipe, golden plover, scaup) 4 plans under final editing by DG ENV (lapwing, redshank, quail, redshank)

10) Management Plans for huntable species and Action Plans for other species under the Birds Directive Major issues about Management Plans of huntable species: Improve existing procedures and leadership for elaboration (definition of priority list of species, consultation and text drafting, endorsement) and implementation, to ensure confidence and support of key players (MS, stakeholders, Commission, EEA) Harmonise and develop a unique format for species plans (currently different formats for action plans, management plans, species reports under Wildlife and Farming Initiative)
