The Objective of the Lithuanian Integrated Museum Information System is the unified gathering of the core information about National Holdings of the Lithuanian Museums.

The purpose of the system is to
gather, process, preserve and share Information about the National Holdings of Lithuanian Museums,
make information about the cumulative National Holdings of Lithuanian Museums more accessible,
promote the researches of the Lithuanian Cultural Heritage,
enrich Europe’s Cultural and Scientific Resources.

LIMIS includes 4 National Museums and 15 State Museums (in the first stage of the project).
In the second stage LIMIS should involve 67 Municipal, 22 Departmental and Private Museums.

The software application system (LIMIS) is developed and implemented.
Joint Public Catalogue of the Lithuanian Museums Objects is assembled.

data gathering, process and exchanging (LIMIS-M),
data aggregation, preservation and sharing (LIMIS-C),
digital content presentation (LIMIS-K).

LIMIS data – descriptive and visual information about Exhibits of the Lithuanian Museums Funds.
LIMIS data is gathered in the separate LIMIS-M databases and jointly preserved in LIMIS-C database, from where is presented over the LIMIS-K portal.
