What are the different forms of energy?

The law of conservation for Energy says:
that the total energy of an isolated system remains constant—it is said to be conserved over time. Energy can neither be created nor destroyed; rather, it transforms from one form to another. For instance, chemical energy can be converted to kinetic energy in the explosion of a stick of dynamite. 4/24/2019 Add a footer

Potential Energy The energy possessed by a body by virtue of its position relative to others, stresses within itself, electric charge, and other factors. 4/24/2019

Kinetic Energy Energy that a body possesses by virtue of being in motion. 4/24/2019 Add a footer

Electric Energy Electrical energy is defined as energy that is stored in an electrical field or circuit which allows for work be accomplished. 4/24/2019 Add a footer

Chemical Energy In chemistry, chemical energy is the potential of a chemical substance to undergo a transformation through a chemical reaction to transform other chemical substances. Examples include batteries, food, gasoline, and more. 4/24/2019 Add a footer

Nuclear Energy The energy released during nuclear fission or fusion, especially when used to generate electricity.

Gravitational Energy Gravitational energy is the potential energy held by an object because of its high position compared to a lower position. In other words, it is energy associated with gravity or gravitational force. 4/24/2019 Add a footer

Mechanical Energy Mechanical energy is the energy possessed by an object due to its motion or its position.  4/24/2019 Add a footer

Thermal/Heat Energy Thermal energy is energy possessed by an object or system due to the movement of particles within the object or the system.

Sound Energy Sound is energy we can hear. It is a type of kinetic energy that moves through the air and other matter in the form of sound waves 4/24/2019 Add a footer

Seismic Energy Seismic waves are low-frequency waves that travel through the Earth. 4/24/2019 Add a footer

Radiant Energy The energy from the sun is called radiant energy, or energy possessed by vibrating particles. 4/24/2019 Add a footer

Solar Energy Solar energy is energy obtained from the sun and processed to be used otherwise. 4/24/2019 Add a footer
