Thought for the Week Belief In Yourself 19 October 2018

You have to believe in yourself when no one else does- that makes you a winner right there.” Venus Williams Explanation: The way we think about ourselves is affected by those around us. Our family and friends have a big impact on who we become. Society also plays a big role in this and tells us who we should be and what we should do. Have you ever decided to stop doing something because your friends didn’t like it? What about pretending to like something just because your friends did? If you could describe yourself in 3 words, what would you say? How would your friends describe you? Your challenge is to think about different ways you could encourage your friends and family in the next week, what could you do/say to help them believe in themselves even more?

YR 12 Graduation Evening 19 October 2018
West Exe School would like to personally invite you to the official Year 12 Graduation Ceremony for West Exe School Class of Date: Thursday 22 November 2018 Time: 17.30pm students arrive for 17.45pm start Venue: West Exe School Dress Code: Smart Casual - No Jeans please! The purpose of the evening is to celebrate the fantastic achievements of last year's Year 11 students. The evening will also provide us with the opportunity to present you with your examination certificates, together with special subject awards. There will also be an opportunity at the end of the evening to meet with staff. We can offer a maximum of 2 guest seats per student. We will not be issuing hard copy tickets to students and parents. Please Mrs Louise Garratt, Exams Officer at by Friday 26 October 2018 at the latest to let us know whether you are able to attend or not. If you do wish to attend the evening can you please confirm, whether you will be attending and bringing 1 guest or 2 guests maximum - thank you. We look forward to hearing from you!

Cycle to School Day 19 October 2018 D of E
Wednesday 10 October Students were encouraged to cycle to school by an event supported by Sustains. Morris, a representative from Sustains, was delighted to see a large numbers of students and teachers on bikes and handed out spot prizes to students who took part. Jack H in year 9 was especially please with his winning MTB sock! Sustains is a charity who help more people choose cycling as a mode of transport. Their aim is to reduce the barriers that stop people enjoying the benefits of cycling. Sustains is now looking into helping fund some additional bike shed facilities. Morris will be running a 'Bike Fixer' club at school from the 6th of November where students can learn how to maintain their bikes. To sign up D of E Year 10 and 11 Bronze groups. 19 October 2018 West Exe Primary Schools Sports Festival - 16/10/18 Well done for all schools who took part; Exwick, Alphington, Redhills and St Thomas Primary school, thoroughly enjoyable and great performances by all involved. The Overall Champions with Netball and Football scores combined was...Alphington! An excellent morning of sport, well done to all participants from the four schools and well done to our Sports Ambassadors who officiated the tournament.
