Facilitative Coaching – guides, helps, and pulls the client’s learning
Cathartic Approach allows the client to release and express emotions. Catalytic Approach is a stimulus to change. It is most useful to help another person to reflect, work through feelings and thoughts, and learn for his/her self. Supportive Approach allows us to provide confirmation, offer encouragement, and help our client maintain focus and motivation.
5
Directive Coaching – pushes your client’s thinking; provides a stronger nudge to change mental models, mind-sets or our values and beliefs Confrontational Approach – can raise awareness, challenge the client’s assumptions, or stimulate awareness of beliefs, behavior, or being. Informative Approach – a coach imparts knowledge and information. (Release responsibility gradually but as soon as possible.) Prescriptive Approach – a coach gives directions, recommendations, or advise; we direct behavior-not beliefs or being. It is appropriate when the client lacks confidence, is unable to direct own learning,
