Foreign language is NOT required to graduate but it is required for Bright Futures and to enter most 4-year universities
Community service hours are NOT required for graduation but are required for the Bright Futures Academic Scholarship(75 hours)

Awards honoring outsanding GPA’s. D’s and F’s must be made up through FLVS and replaced with at least a C.

For juniors who did not pass in 10th grade
Offered twice per year
Next administration: March 30th & 31st
A concordant SAT or ACT score can substitute the FCAT graduation requirement. Register now for second semester.

13. Course Challenges Steps if your child is struggling in a class
1. Check your FOCUS account
2. Contact the teacher, preferably via
addresses found on school website. Same format used for all staff.
3. If tutoring is needed, attend tutoring Mon-Wed after school in room A100. Free!
4. If necessary, contact Mrs. Matthews to set up a parent-teacher conference. Meetings occur at 6:45am

14. Credit Retrieval
Florida Virtual School(FLVS)-pace is 9-18 weeks/semester. Free and done only at home. Highest grade available is an “A”. Must keep up with the pace.
Ed Options(Night School)- Next session is the first week of January. Lasts 7 weeks, one day/week after school from 2-4pm. Highest grade one can earn is a “C.”
Research-Available senior year during school. Uses same program as Ed Options but is done during the school day.

Dual Credit
College classes taught at PCHS. Can earn college credit with at least a “C.” Beginning of college GPA! Must have a qualifying test score(CPT, ACT or SAT) and have a 3.0 unweighted cumulative GPA

Think about course requests for senior year. Increase rigor, if possible. Honors, AP and Dual Credit courses are available
