Brainstorming: What is the name of the neighborhood in which you currently reside? Approximately, where is it located in City? (north, south, east, west, northwest, etc.) If you’ve lived in other areas of the city in your life, list those, too List the major streets or intersections that characterize the area in which you live

How many other neighborhoods can you list? (Do so now)
List the most important Landmarks in your Neighborhood How would you describe your neighborhood to outsiders? What are some important landmarks in Chicago? List them

Directions: Please make sure you include Downtown, your home address and Von Steuben on your map. Show as much detail as you can, and remember to make the map accurate in terms of what is important to you, such as the places you eat, work, walk, recreate, friends’ houses, etc. Leave off things that are not important. (for example, if you don’t watch baseball, don’t put down Wrigley Field) Finally, make sure you include your own made-up symbols and associated legend for Landmarks prominent points of interest), Pathways (streets, routes to…. Neighborhoods, Nodes meeting places, centers where streets or pathways cross), Edges (obvious breaks or boundaries between areas).
