1 Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP)
Board Update March 25, 2014 Meets LUSD Strategic Plan Strategy 1 (Improving Student Achievement) Strategy 3 – (Improve Communication among families, staff, and community and unite as partners in achieving mission and objectives) Please let your stakeholders know that the objective of this presentation is to ensure that they have background knowledge on the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) and the LCAP priorities. 2 LCAP – Overview Approved for 3 years , updated annually
LCAP must describe goals and specific actions for each of the state priorities for all students and each significant sub-group LCAP can also include any locally identified priorities (i.e. – Strategic Plan and LEA Plan) LCAP must also show how services are used to increase or improve services for unduplicated students Services would include those areas associated with the delivery of instruction LCAP approved for 3 years and updated annually LCAP must describe goals and specific actions to achieve those goals for each of the state priorities for all students and each numerically significant sub-group LCAP can also include any locally identified priorities LCAP must also show how services are used to increase or improve services for unduplicated students as compared to services provided to all students in proportion to the increase in funds on the basis of the number and concentration of unduplicated students (County Superintendent verifies if proportion requirement is met) Services would include those areas associated with the delivery of instruction, administration, facilities, student support services, technology, and other general infrastructure necessary to operate and deliver education instruction. 4 LCAP Process – Phase 1 Survey Analysis April 14-18 Survey open March 26 – April 10 Meeting with students, CSEA, SEIU, admin, parent councils (CAC, DAC, DAAAPC, DELAC, PAC) for survey input Challenges served as a foundation for District-Wide Community Survey Identified Strengths and Challenges (District LCAP Committee) Developed LCFF/LCAP Awareness among stakeholders

5 LCAP Process – Phase 2 School Board Approval (June 17, 2014) Public Hearing at School Board (June 3, 2014) Respond to Parent Council Comments in Writing (May 19- May 23) LCAP Presentation to DELAC (May 8) and Parent Leadership (May 13) LCAP Committee – LCAP draft presented (April 24-25) District LCAP Committee – Recommend Actions and Services (April 8)
