2016 summer marks the 13th year of the programme Background

3 Provide a fun-to-join, activity-based English learning experience
Improve students’ English speaking and listening skills Encourage independent creative thought Foster mutual understanding and intercultural experience Aims of the Programme

4 Basic Information Duration: 5 full days (Mon – Fri)
Time: 9am - 4pm (2 - 8pm on final day) Venue: Campus of Participating School Basic Information

Max: students per camp Standard: 120 Students per camp Min: Students per camp Teacher-Student Ratio: 2 instructors per class (1 native-speaking and 1 local) Basic Information

Taught through fun-filled materials with different themes Invite active participation from students Content

Arts and crafts, dancing, and singing, a treasure hunt, a fashion show, a quiz/game show, mini- Olympics, etc Content

14 Camp Staff Each school is run by a teaching team
7 overseas instructors and 7 local instructors Each overseas instructor is teamed up with a local instructor to conduct the lessons and activities throughout the camp Camp Staff

15 1 overseas instructor as Camp Director for organizing the content of the programme
1 local instructor as Deputy Camp Director for the logistics and support the programme A staff of CYEC as Programme Coordinator to oversee & coordinate the camp programme Camp Staff

16 Instructor Qualification
Native English speaking instructors Undergraduate or graduate students of leading universities in U.K. and Canada Studying different programs in Education discipline Carefully selected by their institution Instructor Qualification

17 Instructor Qualification
Tentative list of universities and respective degree programme studying are: Briercrest College & Seminary (Canada) – BA in Applied Linguistics: TESOL Newman University (U.K.) – BA (Hons) in Education Studies University of Northampton (U.K.) – School of Education Instructor Qualification

18 Instructor Qualification
Local instructors Undergraduate students of local universities Interviewed and carefully selected by the programme advisory board Instructor Qualification

19 Programme Dates Week 1: 4 – 8/7/2016 Week 2: 11 – 15/7/2016

20 School Preparation Recruits students
Divide students into 6 classes according to their age and English proficiency Provide classrooms, venue, and equipment Teacher-in-charge and office staff to assist Support team teachers on school visits School Preparation
