OUTSIDE ASSISTANCE 2 Mechanic & Signalling Area
Pictures afterwards are mainly MX related but rules are valid for MX, SM and SNX Mechanic & signalling area is the only place where the rider can get assistance/signals from his team

OUTSIDE ASSISTANCE 3 Signals
Pit board signals are allowed in the signalling area only Body language is allowed Signals around the track are forbidden

OUTSIDE ASSISTANCE 4 Consulting with team members
Stopping around the course to consult with team member is forbidden / Picture taken at private tests Riders must consult with team members in the signalling and repair area Repairs must be made in that zone Only mechanics, signallers and representatives of the industry and officials bearing valid passes are allowed in this area

Stopping around the course to refuel is forbidden / Picture taken at private tests Riders must refuel in the signalling and repair area Repairs must be made in that zone Only mechanics, signallers and representatives of the industry and officials bearing valid passes are allowed in this area

OUTSIDE ASSISTANCE 6 Telemetry
= downloading data from a moving motorcycle is forbidden Downloading data in the pits is allowed

OUTSIDE ASSISTANCE 7 Radio communication
Radio communication with a rider is forbidden / Radio communication between team members is allowed

OUTSIDE ASSISTANCE 8 Two motorcycles during the start procedure
Second motorcycle in the waiting zone (optional) In MXGP, MX2, WMX, VMX, MXN: Start procedure includes sighting lap A rider can use a different motorcycle for the sighting lap than for the race A rider can change motorcycle after the sighting lap and even up to when he crosses the rear tyre barrier to take his place at the starting grid

OUTSIDE ASSISTANCE 9 Starting gate
- Riders having a mechanical problem at the starting gate must wait for assistance until the gate has dropped - Once the gate has dropped, their mechanics can assist - Rider can start the race once the problem has been fixed

minutes before the warm-up laps: tyre warmers allowed minutes Making repairs is allowed Never do: No refueling on the starting grid Generators are allowed up to 4 minutes before the warm-up laps

Marshals are not allowed to hold the motorcycle when repairs are being made or assist the rider to re-start his motorcycle The rider must push his motorcycle alone The rider must restart his motorcycle alone

Riding against the direction of the Course is forbidden Once on the track a rider must always continue in the direction of the course Course cutting is forbidden The penalty for course cutting to gain an advantage is disqualification from the respective practice/race
