Math – Multiplying Fractions using models and other strategies
This week we will be celebrating literacy week at leesburg elementary. Each day students will be able to dress according to the day. Please see the attached schedule. Also, please remember that all students must be in uniform if they are not dressed up.
Science – Investigate and describe that many physical and chemical changes are affected by temperature.
Reading – Compare and contrast the overall structure (e.g., chronology, comparison, cause/effect, problem/solution) of events, ideas, concepts, or information in two or more texts.

-Dress like a snowman!
Come dressed as a snowman! At the end of the day, the whole school will drop everything, chill out, and read!

Super Hero Day
Family Reading Night
6-7:30
Wear your favorite super hero gear to school! Local “Superheroes” will be coming to read to students. –Police, Fire, EMS, Military
Come dressed as your favorite super hero (optional) and enjoy free dinner and a fun-filled night with the whole family!

Dress Like a Book Character Day / Book Character Parade
Come dressed as your favorite book character! All students in costume will come together for a Book Character Parade in the afternoon!

We are proud to be able to serve you and your children and we will continually strive to provide a safe learning environment for them. The safety of your child and all children in our school, as well as the safety of the school staff and support personnel is very important to us.  In order to maintain a safe environment for our children to study and learn, it is necessary that we practice our emergency and crisis response plans by having drills designed to exercise our procedures.
We will be conducting various drills throughout the school year.  This letter is to help you understand the importance of this as well as to understand the drill.   
Active Shooter Drill: Active shooter or violent intruder (dangerous someone) events are alarming, however preparing children for the unimaginable event of an active shooter is important. This type of training for children is similar to that of the lessons taught in stranger danger and fire drill training. The training provides teachers with age-appropriate material and scenarios to help prepare children for active shooter or violent intruder events.
