2 LUKE 24:46-47 “And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.”

4 GOOD MORNING. We thank God…
Please repeat after me: He that hath an ear - let him hear - what the Spirit says unto the churches. We are thankful for the men who have gone before us this morning…

5 VISITORS: you are our welcomed and honored guest.
We are thankful for this congregation… VISITORS: you are our welcomed and honored guest. We are humbled but excited to preach this lesson.

6 REACH OUT A long time ago we had a “visitor from outer space” – Jesus, the Christ. “Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem” (Lu 24:46-47).

7 REACH OUT "...ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine" (Acts 5:28). The Bible says, “Therefore they that were scattered abroad went everywhere preaching the word” (Acts 8:4, 5). The “light of the knowledge of the Glory of God” (2 Cor. 4:6).

8 REACH OUT “We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak” (2 Cor. 4:13; Mark 5:18).

9 REACH OUT “Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee” (Mark 5:19). “And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel” (Mark 5:20).

10 REACH OUT Like all cities in America and in the world… (Gen. 13:13; Jonah 3:4-10; Acts 17:16; Matt. 11:23). Paul said: "I must see Rome" (Acts 19:21). "I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome” (Rom. 1:15).

11 REACH OUT Jesus said to Paul, “So must thou bear witness also at Rome” (Acts 23:11). Again, our challenge to each of you is to FILL… (John 14:6; Rom. 1:16; Matt. 16:18).

12 REACH OUT Reach out and touch, somebody’s hand, make this world a better world, if you can. Reach out and touch, somebody’s hand, and make this a better world, if you can.

13 IT TAKES FAITH TO REACH OUT
The saved are to teach those who are not saved (2 Tim. 2:2). UNBELIEF is dangerous (Heb. 12:1; 4:6). "We are not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we" (Num. 13: ).

14 IT TAKES FAITH TO REACH OUT
Christians need to be people with vision (Neh. 2; 2 Thess. 1:7-9). Vision takes FAITH, and faith SERVES (Gal. 5:6; Heb. 11:7, 23-25, 30). What are YOU – what is this congregations doing for Christ besides coming to the church building for worship?

15 REACHING OUT DEMANDS SPEAKING OUT
"Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard“ (Acts 4:18-20). We must speak out on…(John 8:24; Heb. 11:6; Luke 13:3; Acts 17:30; Acts 8:37; Matt. 10:32; Acts 2:38; Mark 16:16; Rev. 1:5; 1 Peter 3:21).

16 REACHING OUT DEMANDS SPEAKING OUT
The Lord adds the SAVED to His church - the church of Christ (Acts 2:47). Church members need to be on FIRE (Acts 2:46; Ex. 3:2; 13:21-22; 1 Kings 18; Isa. 6:6-7; Ps. 104:4; Jer. 20:9; Acts 2:1-3; Luke 12:49; Rev. 3:1- 2; 1 Thess. 5:19).

17 REACHING OUT DEMANDS SPEAKING OUT
Preachers must see and feel the URGENT need to evangelize (2 Tim. 4:5; Luke 19:10; Rom. 1:16; Matt. 28:19). Elders must NOT put out the preacher’s fire.

18 REACHING OUT DEMANDS SPEAKING OUT
“How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? and how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!” (Romans 10:14-15).

19 REACHING OUT DEMANDS SPEAKING OUT
The elders have also been entrusted with the Gospel (Mark 16:15; Heb. 13:17; 1 Peter 5:1-3; John 4:35). Church members must also be involved in evangelism (1 Cor. 12:27; Mark 5:19; Prov. 11:30; Gal. 3:27; Matt. 7:7; Ps. 107:2).

20 REACHING OUT DEMANDS SPEAKING OUT
Do you really believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God (Matt. 16:16)…That people are lost (1 John 5:19; Rom. 3:23)…That ONLY Christ Jesus can save them (John 14:6; Acts 4:12)? Then let us tell them: "I believed, therefore did I speak."
