Heart of “bitter envy” motivated by “self-seeking” (v. 14) This Wisdom does not come from God above (v. 15) Earthly – not from above Sensual – Lower part of our being Devilish – inspired of Devil, not God Example: Partiality and Hypocrisy (v. 17) Where “jealousy” and self-seeking are, ungodly results will occur (v. 16) Confusion (I Cor. 14:33) Evil (Jn. 3:19, 21)

The Wisdom God gives (Jms. 1:5, Prov. 2:6) Characteristics: First, Pure (I Jn. 3:3) Then, Peaceable (Heb. 12:14) Gentle (I Tim. 3:3, Titus 3:2 Phil. 4:5) Willing to yield – easily entreated –good for persuasion Full of Mercy (Jms. 2:13) And Good Fruits – beneficial for all (Gal. 6:10)
