Introduction Bit labeling for BPSK, QPSK, 16 QAM, and 64 QAM defined in standard has the following characeritics: Independent Gray coding on I & Q axis I bits followed by Q bits Most negative symbol value corresponds to all 0’s Need to specify mapping for 256 QAM We propose simply to extrapolate from already defined constellations in n 4 bit Gray coding for each dimension Joseph Lauer et.al, Broadcom
