2 What is a hyperbole? Hyperbole is the use of extreme exaggeration for the purpose of emphasis or heightened effect.

3 Why use hyperbole? It is usually meant to be humorous or funny. It adds interest to a story! “I’m so hungry I could eat a horse!” is much more interesting and descriptive than “I’m hungry.”

4 What is a hyperbole? Let’s look for the extreme exaggerations together!
