Session Learning Objectives
To give a national perspective on how education and health sectors are working together and how are we encouraging local areas to do the same. To give an overview of the National SEND programme in Quarter 4 and Regional and Local delivery function.

Update on SEND Programme
Main Deliverable SEND Designated Officers Event 20th March to launch: research 3 case studies revised handbook Films Local Y and H Event Planned for 27th Feb via Wendy Shared work with others Ongoing working with CYP transforming care team and 6 accelerator sites NHS England working with Dfe re Leadership Board which will focus on joint commissioning Business as Usual from 17/18 Increase in overall submissions and SEND indicators into the Community Services Data set Tribunal Trial – health input/events 13th Feb is for NE and Y and H Supported NNPCF annual conference great to hear inc in wow moments NHS England and Dfe Advisors continue to work together with local areas on inspections and re visits

CYP Transformation Programme To oversee commitments in the plan for CYP SEND Key Links CYP Mental Health 0-25 Hearing, Eyesight and Dental CYP with Long standing illness Personal Health Budgets Timely support in community for CYP with LD By 2023/24 all CYP with LD and or Autism will have a Designated Keyworkers for CYP with LD Care closer to home- community services Workforce – Medical, Therapies and Nursing Primary Care Networks More Integrated Care systems Other CYP links Neonatal Critical Care and Surgery CYP A and E attendances CYP Cancer To find out more visit the Long Term Plan website

Ofsted & CQC inspections:
15 local Authority Areas across Y&H. 6 inspections to date. Examples of areas of strengths and weaknesses. 4 areas with WSoA. Leadership Too little involvement of families in decision-making Ineffective strategy for jointly commissioning services across education, health and social care. Poor strategic oversight of SEND arrangements The quality and timeliness of EHC plans.
