1 Teaching Tolerance

2 Editorial Cartoons An editorial cartoon uses pictures and text to make a statement about something. Editorial cartoons are a way to express opinions about a wide range of topics such as politics and culture. Editorial cartoons can be challenging because you often need background knowledge to understand them. When trying to understand an editorial cartoon it’s important to follow these steps: Look at the picture. Look at the images and the text. What do you see? Is there anything that looks familiar? Look at the BIGGER picture. Think about events that have happened in the past or are happening in the present. ON THE NEXT SLIDES YOU WILL BE PRESENTED WITH EDITORIAL CARTOONS. WE WILL ANALYZE WHAT THE ARTIST OF THE CARTOON IS TRYING TO SAY.
