To reinforce your key points To support your main ideas To summarize your thoughts To list complex points into key phrases Do not type your speech verbatim on your presentation aid and read directly to your audience!

3 Keep It Simple Type in phrases, not sentences
Minimize the number of words used Use active verbs Use parallel grammatical structure Repeat key terms for consistency Number sequential items

4 Create Continuity Use the same design elements consistently.
Use one PowerPoint slide design throughout entire show. Use the same colors, fonts, and styling through out. Place repeating elements in the same place on subsequent aids.
