Next Steps in Advocating for Teacher Education

MEMBER PARTICIPATION Twelve member institutions, representative of geographic locations in the state, will be asked to nominate one of their alumni.

NOMINATIONS Will be made by individual institution
Forms for nomination submission will be available on the IACTE website ( ). Anticipated due date for submission: February 1, 2013

Criteria for Outstanding Beginning Teacher Selection
To be determined Criteria will be shared by individual institutions during award ceremony.

Invitations IACTE Executive Board will follow up nominations with official letters of invitation to: Each nominee, Each nominee’s building administrator, and Teacher union representatives.

SPECIAL INVITATIONS Legislators who represent the districts in which the awardees’ schools are located will be sent special invitations and receive follow-up phone calls to invite them to the reception and inform them that a teacher in their legislative district Is being awarded an outstanding beginning teacher award.

Reception Awards will be presented to the teachers at the Legislators’ Reception, with acknowledgement of the building administrators and union representatives.
