In Australia lived a boy called Cian Moore.
Cian was a fussy eater.
From the age of 5 he only ate chicken, potatoes, dry bread and only drank Coke.
By the time he was 13 years old, Cian was going blind.

The doctors discovered that Cian had a severe Vitamin A deficiency.
Vitamin A is essential for a healthy immune system, for the growth and health of our skin, hair and eyes.
Vitamin A deficiency is the main cause of blindness in children in developing countries.
Approximately 250,000 to even 500,000 children suffer from it due to a lack of a varied diet. Learn more:

5. Why do some people not follow a healthy diet?
Some people struggle to eat good food because they are ill and feel sick all the time.
Some people are allergic to good food. E.g. some people are lactose intolerant and cannot eat dairy products.
In some cultures there is a preference for certain foods. E.g. Japanese people eat a lot of rice.
Sometimes good food is very expensive. E.g. cheese and fresh fish.
Sometimes there is a shortage of food. E.g. because of drought.

6. A Poor diet can cause Health Problems

Constipation
Obesity
Diabetes
Anorexia nervosa
Kwashiorkor
