Day 23 10/5/10 TOPIC: Converting an xt Graph to a vt Graph
OBJECTIVE: I can convert a Position v. Time Graph (xt Graph) to a Velocity v. Time Graph (vt Graph) STARTER: Speed - the rate at which position changes Constant Speed - speed that does not change Instantaneous Speed - speed at a given moment Average Speed - total distance divided by total time Velocity - a quantity that specifies both speed and direction

Agenda
3
Write 3-4 true statements about the xt graph.
4
SLOPE of XT gives VELOCITY
3 2 1 t (s) INSTRUCTION Velocity 1

Example 3: Shoulder Partner Practice Convert an xt Graph to a vt Graph
X (km) 3 2 1 -1 -2 -3 t (hr) v (km/hr) SHOULDER PARTNER PRACTICE
