2. NUMBER OF CSPB EASTERN CAPE REGION
The Eastern Cape Region has nine (8) approved and financed CSPBs
One (1) approved and unfunded CSPB is in St Albans
The location of CSPBs in Eastern Cape is as follows
Kirkwood Management Area X 1
St Albans Management Area x 2 and both are situated in Port Elizabeth
Amathole Management Area x 1and is situated in Middle Drift
Sada Management Area x 2 and are situated in Cradock and Sada
East London Management Area x 1and is situated in East London
Mthatha Management Area x 2 and are situated in Mthatha and Lusikisiki.
All the CSPBs in the region are roving Boards.
All CSPBs in the region are allocated with new cars for traveling purposes
There are nine newly built CSPBs offices in the region
Meetings are held with the Regional Commissioner and Deputy Regional Commissioner

3. CHALLENGES OF CSPB EASTERN CAPE REGION
INTERVENTION
1. Lack of formal Provincial structure for the assistance and support of victims
Attempts were made to formalize the victim structure at a local level
2. Unavailability of supporting documents for profiles, i.e. SAP 69, 62 and sentence remarks.
Dedicated officials are appointed to liaise with magistrates and SAPS to obtain the documents. Case flow management forum established to regulate the processing and obtaining profile required documents
3. Contract of CSPB Chairperson / Exit of CSPB Chairperson
Regional Task Team was Established to look at the contract of CSPB Chairpersons.
The matter will be taken up with the Minister of Correctional Services.
4. Medical parole and role of the doctor in handling parole applications
Region submitted inputs to Head Office
5. Non compliance with risk assessment outcomes
DCS Management requested to Develop and implement Sentence Plan according to needs based programmes.
