Campfire News Spanish Phrase of the Week is: De principios (principled) Inquiry into Math: We will practice subtracting multiples of 10 in the range from multiples of 10 in the range We will use concrete models, drawings and the number line to help us! Inquiry into Literacy: We will be reading the story, Abe Lincoln’s Hat by Martha Brenner. We will practice identifying the problem and solution and will try to make some personal connections with Lincoln’s story! We will be sharing about what ”things” are important to us and where we put the things we want to keep safe! Letterland Unit 19: We will earn the ee spelling for long e.  This is the first of a number of Vowel Men Out Walking pairs with the first vowel long and the second silent (Example: keep, these, and need). Writer’s Workshop: We will write about what life would be like if we were president! Inquiry into Science: We will explore the importance of a push or pull to change the motion of an object Inquiry into Social Studies: We will use geographic tools to identify characteristics of various landforms and bodies of water.and give examples showing location of places (home, classroom, school and community). I am seeing huge overall improvements in our fluency growth and I truly feel nightly reading practice is partly responsible for this growth! Keep up the good work, coyotes!!!
