2 What is Chinese head tax?
Chinese people had to pay $50(later raised up to $100 then to $500) just to immigrate to Canada. Chinese head tax was a fee charged to every Chinese person trying to enter Canada. Chinese head tax was instated between

3 Railroads Chinese labour was use to build the railroads.
Over Chinese came to Canada from Several thousand came from the coastal areas of the United State where they helped build the American transcontinental railroad. The majority arrived southern china while most of these arrivals worked as labours on the railroad.

4 How they were treated The province of British Columbia already had a sizeable population of the Chinese following the late 1850’s and the racism widely spread. Many white workers feared that the Chinese workers were willing to except lower wages would take away jobs from white workers.

5 Why was head tax created?
After the railroads were done Canada wanted to discourage Chinese people from coming to Canada. So they first made the head tax to be $50 to $100 but Chinese people keep going till they made the tax $500.

6 Why did the Chinese people keep coming to Canada?
When the railroads were being build only and mostly man came to Canada to work there so when it finished they started to bring there family's such as parents wife's and children to Canada.
