09/21/2018 Upcoming, Important Dates: Add these dates to your agenda, if they apply to you: Friday (09/21) – Welcome Back Dance Monday-Friday (09/24 – 09/28) – Fall Break Thursday (10/04) – Fundraiser items will arrive. Go get your breakfast NOW. Do not wait. Turn in any signed paperwork to the homeroom bin. If you are not eating, you must read something of your choice. HOMEROOM = SILENCE

2 Language Arts – Warm Up 09/21/18
I.A.N. Check #1 – Tuesday (10/02) Use the checklist to ensure you have all of the completed, correct work in your I.A.N. If you’re missing anything, be sure to go to the blog and add it! Your first I.A.N. check will be on the Tuesday after Fall Break. Once you finish checking your I.A.N., finish working on your flipbooks. They are due today!

Essential Question: How can change be significant? What makes a good story? Standard: ELACC6RL3 – Describe how a particular story’s or drama’s plot unfolds in a series of episodes as well as how the characters respond or change as the plot moves toward a resolution.

“My Superpowers” – Flipbook (A Classwork Grade) Create a flipbook by folding each sheet once and stapling it all together. Outside cover – title of story, author & your name First white page – type of conflict in “My Superpowers” Back of first white page – define the type of conflict Second white page – one example of text evidence from “My Superpowers” and an explanation of its significance Back of second white page – an illustration from the story This flipbook is due TODAY.

Types of Conflict Flipbook (A Project Grade) Create a flipbook by folding your long paper “hot dog style”, then fold two more times to make the squares. Cut the flaps to the long crease on the top only. See the board for an example. Outside cover – type of conflict & illustration Inside cover (top) – definition for that type of conflict Inside cover (bottom) – Provide an example of that type of conflict from a story you’ve read or we’ve read in class using text evidence. Use your I.A.N. notes on types of conflict to help you. This flipbook is due TODAY.

6 Language Arts – Closing Session 09/21/18
Independent Reading It is time to begin reading a new book. Your next Biblionasium will be due on October 29, 2018. Homework: Finish your flipbooks! They’re due tomorrow! Read! Check your Student Vue account! Check the blog!
