Properties of ratios 1. Ratio has no units.
Example: Ratio of 4m to 7m is written as 4:7 and not as 4m:7m. 2. Quantities of a ratio should be of the same unit In the above example both the numbers have same unit m 3. Each number of the ratio is called term. In the ratio 4:7, the numbers 4 and 7 are called as term. Order of the terms in a ratio cannot be reversed Ratio we get by reversing the term of given ratio are not same The ratio 4:7 is not equal to ratio 7:4
