6 There are four steps to articulate your pathway
Create and sign and agreement Register with CATEMA Enroll students Submit grades

7 Articulating your pathway helps students complete a certificate in a short amount of time.

8 What is Articulation? Articulation is the process of evaluating courses to determine whether coursework completed in a high school program will meet the requirements at a community college for the purpose of advanced placement credit by exam units.

9 I was new teacher and found the process to be clear and achievable.
I developed “Best Practices” and continue to use and refine them when there are changes to the articulation process. Articulation is a work in progress.

Use the college’s course catalog as a model. Review other similar approved course outlines. Check your colleges articulation site. Include: Academic Standards CTE Anchor Standards CTE Pathway Standards

28 Students apply through the articulating college
CATEMA: Students get a college ID number from the California Community Colleges Students apply through the articulating college A Social Security number is required to complete the online CCC registration.

30 CATEMA: Once the students grades are in SUBMIT

Keep the parents informed Put the articulation in your syllabus Send parents an explaining why their student needs access to their SSN Send a written notice to parents with the permission slip for articulation (included in handouts)

5. Grade measurable activities 6. ALWAYS give a “Due Date” for grading purposes --Bring back permission slip, create account for CCC, create a CATEMA acct. 7. Plan the articulation to take 3 or 4 days 8. Anticipate that you will have to do some follow-up with both students and parents
