7. PDMODE System Variable
The PDMODE system variable controls the appearance of POINTs.
20 different POINT appearance options exist.
Value of PDMODE range only from
0 to 4.
32 to 36
64 to 68
96 to 100

The PDMODE system variable controls the appearance of POINTs.
0 = point.
1 = nothing drawn.
2 = cross is drawn.
3 = x is drawn.
4 = | is drawn.
32 = circle
64 = square

Setting Point Style
To change the appearance of POINTs, change the value of the PDMODE system variable.
Two ways to change PDMODE value.
1. Type PDMODE at the Command: prompt
Enter the new value of PDMODE system variable.
2. Type DDPTYPE at the Command: prompt.
Dialog box appears allowing you to change value of PDMODE.

A combination of square and circle can be produced.

Dividing an Object
The DIVIDE command “divides objects” into an equal number of segments, by placing POINTs or BLOCKs along the object.
It places point objects or blocks at the locations where the breaks would occur.
The DIVIDE command does NOT physically break an object into multiple parts.

The Block option of the DIVIDE command allows you to place a block at each division point.
A Block is a previously drawn symbol or shape.

The MEASURE command
“measures objects” by placing POINTs or BLOCKs along the object, at a user-specified distance apart.
The MEASURE command does NOT physically break an object into multiple parts.
