10 Beatitudes are the kingdom of God: Consumer Culture is the kingdom of man:

11 Poor in spirit, humble, trust in God, recognize spirit is weak without love of God Arrogant, individualistic, see no need for God, want to be better than others (i.e. status)

12 Peacemaker, trying to bring different groups of people together, never use violence Violence to get what you want, starting conflict

13 Meek/gentle, sensitive to the needs of others, never use violence to get what they want, will stick up for the needs of others non-violently, power with (share ones power) Power over others, intimidation

14 Merciful/forgiving, giving second chances, not holding a grudge, willing to help another change for the better No second chances, deserve what you get, focus on revenge

15 Mourn, sad because they see the suffering in another and the suffering in the world and want to do something to comfort those suffering Seek pleasure and avoid suffering, i.e. focus on entertainment and forget those in pain
