What is digital divide? Digital Divide is the gap between those with easy access to technology and those with little to no access to technology. This technology can include the telephone, television, personal computers, and the Internet. The digital divide typically exists between those in cities and those in rural areas; between the educated and the uneducated; between socioeconomic groups; and, globally, between the more and less industrially developed nations Before the late 20th century, digital divide was only referred between those with and without telephone access; after the late 1990s the term began to be used mainly to describe the split between those with and without Internet access, particularly broadband. Process to study consumer trends?
- The process to studying consumer trends is using a method called Data Mining. A few examples of this is allowing retailers to respond to consumers buying patterns. This allows the retailers to know what to and what not to stock based off of purchases and popularity. They can customize the marketing of their business to appeal to ones interest. Meaning they can save cookies and advertise things you have looked at in hopes for you to view it again, but that is just one way. Caitlin Riley
