1 Grofar Student Action Plan
Student Guide

2 What is Grofar? An online tool to help manage your work experience In your Grofar student portal, there is a section called ‘Action Plan’ (there is also a link to your Action Plan on your Dashboard landing page. Here you can think about and develop your goals, objectives and aim for the future.

3 How to Access your Work Experience in Grofar
Sign in to Grofar – if you don’t have an account yet speak with your school Careers Leader Click on the menu bar at the top (3 horizontal lines) and select the Action Plan section This will bring you to your Action Plan which is made up of 5 to 6 sections depending on what year group you are in. To complete your Action Plan you will need to click on the section you want to work on or START WIZARD to get going

4 Section 1: My Profile This section focuses on yours:
Interests Skills Attributes Achievements so far Subject interests Work Experience Employment References (for year 10+) Check list of documents in your careers portfolio (for year 10+) Go through each question. Many have examples to help get you started. Be sure to check off you have completed the section before clicking SAVE and moving on

5 Section 2: My Progress This section focuses on: Your past goals & achievements What you’ve learnt in working towards your goals What skills you want to work on GOALS/ACHIEVEMENTS: If you did not set any goals or achievement last year you will need to click +ADD ACHIEVEMENT - This will open a new section for you to fill in an achievement you had. Once you have completed the form, click save. You will now see you goal listed in Question 1 If you entered goals from last year into your Grofar you can review all of your goals from the previous year. - When you review a goal, you can mark it as completed, bring it forward into this year if you have not achieved it but it is still a goal for you or remove the goal if it is no longer relevant.  Once you have answered all the questions - Be sure to check off you have completed the section before clicking SAVE and moving on

6 Section 3: My Goals & Plans
This section focuses on helping you set career goals including helping you think about who can help you and what subjects you’ll need to take to achieve these goals. You can add multiple goals. Tick off all the subjects you need to take to achieve all your goals Once you have answered all the questions - Be sure to check off you have completed the section before clicking SAVE and moving on

7 Section 4: My Review There are only 2 parts to this section Your Active Goals – here you can mark your current goals as completed when ready – fill out the information in the form which comes up when you click to complete a goal Achieved Goals – these are the goals you have already completed Throughout the year visit this section to review your goals, ensuring your are working towards them / updating them when needed Once you have answered all the questions - Be sure to check off you have completed the section before clicking SAVE and moving on

8 Section 5: My Action Plan Summary
There are only 3 questions in the summary section. These questions are there to help you summarise your thoughts on your action plan and make comments about your goals for the upcoming year.  Once you have answered all the questions - check off you have completed the section before clicking SAVE if you haven’t finished the other sections or SAVE AND SUBMIT to show your teacher your Action Plan is now complete.

9 Year 12 to 13 ONLY: My Future The My Future section is visible to those in year 12 and 13. Before answering this section, you might need to do some research. You should have an idea of what job roles and industries you are interested in. If you want to learn more about any job role, click on the blue circle You will then add more details to you Careers Choice in Question 3 The rest of the questions focus on the values, skills, employers and courses relevant to your career interests Once you have answered all the questions - Be sure to check off you have completed the section before clicking SAVE and moving on
