What Does it Mean to be Safe?
To be protected against danger, harm, risk, or feeling uncomfortable. To feel positive, loved, and cared for. Being assertive when something make’s us feel uncomfortable UNCOMFORTABLE? ASSERTIVE?

What Does it Mean to be Unsafe?
Dangerous, risky, makes you feel uncomfortable. Bring hurt to our bodies Touches that are unwanted and make us feel uncomfortable or uneasy

What is a Safe Touch? Makes you feel happy Makes you feel comfortable
Makes you feel safe and secure inside Isn’t told to be kept a secret Enriches our life

Touches that do not make you feel uncomfortable

What is an Unsafe Touch? Touches that hurt our bodies
Touches that make us uncomfortable Touches that are told to be kept a secret Touches to parts of our bodies that shouldn’t be touched unless it’s to keep us clean or healthy

Can be safe or unsafe touches Is not wanted by the person receiving it Okay to say no, even to a familiar person

Letting others know how you feel Telling them what you want Knowing your body is YOURS and YOURS only! Saying NO! When something makes you uncomfortable

What should I do? What should I say?
If someone touches me in a way that makes me uncomfortable…. TELL SOMEONE Be assertive SAY NO! You are allowed to: -hit -scream -bite -pinch -yell
