SS The 5 Strands of the Gifted Curriculum Provide: SOCIAL PROCESSES
*Learning experiences not normally encouraged in the classroom. *Stimulation of critical and creative thinking, goal setting, in depth research, initiative and originality. *An interdisciplinary approach with opportunities to create varied products. *Higher level thinking skills necessary to becoming a successful, decision making individuals. SOCIAL PROCESSES Goal Development Productive Interpersonal Techniques Awareness of Social Trends Positive Self Esteem CRITICAL APPRECIATION *Creative problem solving *Exploration, organization, analysis of component parts. *Synthesis of thoughts and feelings, evaluating before judging worth of ideas. RESEARCH METHODS *Gathering information from a variety of source materials. *Group and independent study. *Exploration of personal interests *Oral presentation experiences. CREATIVE EXPRESSION *Experimental opportunities for verbal, nonverbal and written communication. *Classification, interpretation and analysis of performing arts, art styles and literary works. *Produce original creative products. SCIENTIFIC APPROACH *Use varied communication skills to interpret and classify observations into data.. *Place observation in proper perspective while maintaining objective point of view.
