There have been some significant developments in Hardware due to the work an competition of such firms as Dell, Microsoft and Google. They include:
Global Positioning Systems (GPS)
Power Supply Unit (PSU)
Computer Platforms
Communication Technologies

6. 1.1 Hardware (2)
Global Positioning Systems (GPS) – which allows a user to access the internet in various locations around the world.
Power Supply Unit (PSU) - increases to the level and amount of power being supplied to computer systems, which has increased their capacity and abilities.
Computer Platform – as software options have changed so have platforms in terms of their capacity and sophistication.
Communication Technologies – such as PDAs, Blackberries, CCTV and Smart Chips have enabled users to communicate on a 24/7 basis.
